Government Launches 2026 Self-Employment Program to Support Young Entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has launched the 2026 call for the Self-Employment Program. The initiative aims to support unemployed jobseekers in starting their own businesses and creating new jobs.

Minister Delina Ibrahimaj presented the program and highlighted its importance. She said it supports young people, women, and vulnerable groups in building their economic future.

She explained that the program helps individuals who have business ideas but lack financial support. It guides them from the initial idea to full business development.

Moreover, Ibrahimaj said the program is not only for returnees from migration. It is open to all young people who want to live and invest in Albania.

She also pointed to success stories from previous beneficiaries. These cases show the potential of entrepreneurship in the country.

In addition, she stressed the importance of education and vocational training. She said these skills help young people start businesses faster and more effectively.

The program includes several phases. Applicants first submit an idea, then receive training, and finally apply for funding. Each year, around 200 beneficiaries receive support.

For 2026, the government has increased the program’s budget. As a result, more applicants will receive funding support.

Finally, Ibrahimaj encouraged citizens to apply. She said the program offers knowledge, experience, and opportunities beyond financial aid.
