TIRANA, May 7 – The Transparency Board cut the price of diesel by 10 lek per litre at its latest meeting. It set a new maximum retail price for standard diesel at 196 lek per litre. It fixed the wholesale price at 184 lek per litre.
The Board also set a ceiling for petrol prices. It limited retail petrol prices to 180 lek per litre. It set the wholesale price at 168 lek per litre.
The new prices entered into force on May 7 at 12:00. They will remain valid until the next Board meeting, which may adjust prices based on market changes.
The Board called on fuel wholesalers and retailers to comply with the decision. It warned that violations may lead to measures, including suspension of activity.
In addition, the Board said current prices remain below the limits set in Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026. It confirmed that fuel excise duty will continue at 100 percent.
