TIRANA, May 11 – The General Directorate of Customs took part in a two-day activity on combating illegal trafficking of cultural heritage, organized within a project aimed at strengthening capacities and law enforcement cooperation.
The event brought together cultural heritage professionals and law enforcement institutions. It focused on improving inter-institutional cooperation and building capacity to prevent and address the illegal trafficking of objects with historical and cultural value.
Meanwhile, the Customs Administration underlined its key role in controlling goods crossing the border. It said it works to identify and stop attempts to illegally export cultural heritage objects from Albania.
At the same time, the institution stated that protecting cultural heritage also means protecting national identity and history.
