TIRANA, May 14 – “Courtyards That Speak” is a cultural project that invites visitors to discover an authentic side of Himara through local memories, songs, traditional recipes and stories passed down across generations.
The initiative opens several traditional courtyards in the coastal area to the public for a limited period. Visitors can experience local storytelling, traditional cuisine and handicrafts through direct interaction with residents and families from the area. Organisers describe the project not as a tourist attraction, but as a simple and genuine encounter with local life and culture.
For generations, these courtyards have served as spaces of hospitality, memory and community life. Through the project, local residents share elements of Himara’s living heritage while creating closer connections between the community and visitors.
The initiative aims to promote the area’s cultural heritage through authentic experiences and direct communication with local inhabitants. Municipality of Himara and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports support the project.
