TIRANA, May 18 – Albania hosts the 83rd Albania Cycling Tour from today until 22 May. Twenty elite teams from Albania, the Balkans and Europe take part in the race.
The first stage starts at 12:00. Cyclists begin in Tirana and finish in Lezha.
The State Police announces temporary traffic restrictions in several main roads in Tirana due to the event.
Traffic limitations apply to Skanderbeg Square, Zogu I Boulevard, Dedë Gjon Luli Street and Myslym Shyri Street.
Restrictions also cover Martyrs of the Nation main boulevard, Lekë Gjon Luli Street and Ibrahim Rugova Street. Additional limits apply on Gjergj Fishta Boulevard and the Outer Ring Road.
Further closures affect the Tirana–TEG–Thumana–Milot–Rrëshen–Reps segment during the race route.
Police and Tirana Municipality authorities urge drivers to avoid these roads. They recommend alternative routes during the event hours.
