Artan Lame’s Book “Shqipni e Harrume” Presented on First Anniversary of His Passing

A commemorative ceremony marked the presentation of “Shqipni e harrume,” the book by the late Albanian public figure Artan Lame, on the first anniversary of his death.

Family members, friends and colleagues gathered to honor his life and work in Tirana.

The book reflects Lame’s strong passion for Albanian history, memory and cultural heritage.

His daughter, Lisia Lame, spoke at the event. She called on the public to remember her father for who he was, not with sadness.

She also spoke about unfinished projects, including the “Garda Museum,” and said the book became a way to complete part of his intellectual legacy.

Friend and architect Artan Shkreli described Lame’s work as unique and deeply analytical.

He said the book offers a critical view of Albanian history, focusing on contradictions, myths and “grey zones” of the past.

Shkreli added that Lame did not see history as a linear process, but as a series of conflicts between interests, ideologies and narratives.

He said the book deconstructs traditional heroic storytelling and presents an alternative interpretation of national history.

Artan Lame passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 58. He was known as a historian, commentator and advocate for cultural heritage preservation.
