Lamallari Meets Austrian Counterpart, Pledges Stronger Security Cooperation

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari met with Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner during the “Europa Forum Wachau”.

The two ministers discussed stronger cooperation between Albania and Austria in security, border management, and the fight against organized crime. They also focused on coordination against common European challenges.

In a social media post, Lamallari described Austria as an important partner for Albania’s European integration and public security.

“Partnership with Austria remains important for our path toward European integration and for guaranteeing greater security for our citizens,” Lamallari said.

He also said Albania is becoming a preferred destination for Austrian tourists and investors. He highlighted the growing economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
