Prime Minister Edi Rama has welcomed the European Union’s decision to grant further financial support to Albania within the framework of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
This week, Brussels approved the disbursement of €49 million for Albania, bringing the total amount of funds received by the country so far to €212 million — the highest figure among the countries in the region.
In his reaction, Rama stated that this funding is the result of reforms and progress certified by the European Commission in the European integration process.
“Another financial support package from the European Union has arrived from Brussels. While the opening of the final phase of negotiations has been decided, another fund for Albania has also been launched within the framework of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
€49 million, which brings the support received so far to €212 million — the highest amount obtained by any country in the region through the Growth Plan,” he said.
According to the head of government, the Growth Plan is based on concrete and objective results, while he described Albania as a “success story” being built through vision, work, and continuous reforms.
Rama thanked citizens for their support and reiterated that Albania’s European path will continue without interruption.
“The Growth Plan is a financing plan based on results, and these are results certified by the European Commission, unquestionable in their objectivity. Contrary to what those who always lose in the end claim day and night, our Albania — the European Albania we are building — is a success story, a story that is not written through shouting, slander, or Molotov cocktails, but through vision, hard work, great patience, and step-by-step dedication, reform after reform.
So, congratulations to everyone and, above all, thank you! Thank you to every Albanian man and woman who believes, supports, and walks with us on this historic mission. Strength! Strength! Nothing can stop European Albania!” the Prime Minister emphasized.
