Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti visited the Mufti of Kosovo, Naim Tërnava, at the headquarters of the Islamic Community of Kosovo on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
He said the holiday obliges people to show solidarity and generosity for the common good.
Kurti also recalled the sacrifice of 37 imams who died during the last war in Kosovo.
“This is our first visit for Eid al-Adha, as every year, to the Islamic Community of Kosovo to extend greetings to Mufti Naim Tërnava and his collaborators. This is a holiday of sacrifice, which constantly reminds us that sacrifice is also a celebration, because we enjoy the fruits of those who sacrificed before us and enabled our freedom and prosperity. Above all, we remember the national martyrs, including 37 imams from the liberation war, led by the KLA, and everything we do today as institutions is to support citizens in every need,” Kurti said.
He added that Eid al-Adha obliges people to help one another, respect each other, and show solidarity and generosity for the common good, leaving no one behind.
