Cherry Festival in Godolesh Highlights Local Tradition and Rural Tourism

The village of Godolesh welcomed hundreds of visitors this weekend for the annual Cherry Festival, an event dedicated to promoting the area’s agricultural traditions, cultural heritage and tourism potential.

Residents and visitors from Elbasan, other Albanian cities and foreign tourists gathered in the village center to take part in the celebrations.

Local farmers showcased Godolesh’s best-known product — cherries — at exhibition stands set up throughout the festival.

Visitors explored fresh local produce while artisans presented handmade crafts and traditional souvenirs from the area.

Live music, folk dances and cultural performances added to the festive atmosphere and drew strong interest throughout the evening.

Children also joined the celebrations through games and activities organized especially for them.

The Cherry Festival has become an important annual tradition for Godolesh, helping local farmers promote their products and introducing visitors to the area’s natural and cultural attractions.

Through the event, the Municipality of Elbasan aims to support farmers, preserve local traditions and strengthen rural tourism by promoting Godolesh as an increasingly attractive destination for visitors.
