The city of Korçë has closed the 30th edition of the International Festival of Poets and Authors “Korça Poetry Nights.” The event brought together poets from Albania, the region, and across Europe.
Korçë Mayor Sotiraq Filo described the festival as a celebration of the beauty of words. He said it turned the city into a space of artistic expression.
The festival ran for two nights. During this time, 30 poets and poets from different countries shared their works.
They presented new poetry and exchanged literary experiences. The event also created cultural dialogue among participants.
Meanwhile, the jury, led by poet Rita Petro, announced several awards. Ion Deaconescu from Romania received the main festival prize.
Odise Kote from Albania received the “Dritëro Agolli” award. Claudia Piccino from Italy received the “Asdreni” prize. Petro Golitsis from Greece received a special award.
In addition, organizers highlighted the importance of the festival for cultural identity. They said the event strengthens Korçë’s role as a center of literature and arts.
Overall, the festival closed its 30th edition with strong participation. It also reinforced its position as an important international cultural event.
