TIRANA, June 3 – The government said it completed verification of funds used for the purchase of land in Zvërnec. It said investors passed financial checks. However, it said payments to the seller remain frozen due to a separate judicial process. Prime Minister Edi Rama made the announcement after a government meeting. He described the outcome as positive.
Earlier, Rama said authorities confirmed the origin of the transferred funds. He said the money moved through the banking system. As a result, he said investors now hold recognized ownership rights over the property.
Meanwhile, he said the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime maintained the freeze on the seller’s funds. A separate investigation continues into the seller. According to Rama, this step allows an independent judicial review of ownership claims. It also limits legal uncertainty around the transaction.
In addition, he said prosecutors will issue a binding legal decision. He said the process will resolve disputes over the property. It will also address all unverified claims linked to ownership.
Separately, Rama referred to what he described as hybrid pressure on development policies. He said some actors use environmental issues to generate tension. In parallel, he said state institutions maintain strong cyber defense capabilities.
However, he stressed that the challenge goes beyond cyber threats. He described it as hybrid influence activity. He said such actions aim to slow economic and political development. He added that Albania will continue its growth path despite external pressures.
