UEFA Inspects Albania’s Stadiums Ahead of EURO U-21 2027

UEFA representatives continued inspections in Albania as preparations advance for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027, which Albania will co-host.

First, UEFA experts visited stadiums over a four-day inspection tour. They assessed technical and operational readiness for the tournament.

They focused on lighting systems, backup generators, security measures, and other requirements set by UEFA for international matches.

In the first stage, the delegation inspected “Loro Boriçi” Stadium in Shkodër. Then they visited “Elbasan Arena.”

Next, they checked “Air Albania Stadium” and “Arena e Demave” in Tirana. Both venues are currently undergoing major infrastructure upgrades for EURO U-21 2027.

At “Air Albania Stadium,” inspectors reviewed ongoing work on pitch improvements. They also checked the installation of a new hybrid grass surface that meets UEFA standards.

Meanwhile, at “Arena e Demave,” they observed work to replace the artificial turf with natural grass.

The project includes removing the existing surface, installing an irrigation system, and building a new playing field that meets international requirements.

Finally, the inspection confirmed close cooperation between the Albanian Football Association and UEFA. The federation continues to upgrade infrastructure and meet all organizational standards to ensure a successful tournament in 2027.
