Kosovo Expands Into New Sports Ahead of Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games

Kosovo prepares to host the Mediterranean Games “Prishtina 2030” and expands its focus to new and emerging sports. Sports federations develop long-term strategies to build competitive national teams. They target sports such as padel, rugby, and 3×3 basketball for future international participation.

The Padel Federation of Kosovo designs a development plan for 2025–2030 with a focus on the Games. It invests in infrastructure, youth schools, and the expansion of player bases. Officials aim to train young athletes so they can compete at a high level by 2030.

The Rugby Federation works to secure inclusion in the official program of the Games. It prepares youth teams and organizes training camps to build future squads. It expects a final decision from the Mediterranean Games Committee and continues its preparations regardless.

The Basketball Federation of Kosovo also develops its 3×3 program as a key project for Prishtina 2030. It identifies players and coaches and builds structured training systems for both men’s and women’s teams. It plans long-term investment to create a competitive squad capable of winning medals.

Officials from all federations emphasize youth development, infrastructure investment, and strategic planning. They state that Kosovo strengthens its sports system to achieve both participation and success at the 2030 Mediterranean Games.
