TIRANA, June 29 – Construction crews continue work on a new park at the entrance to Shkodër. The project will create a multifunctional space for all age groups.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the construction site on social media. Meanwhile, he said the project has transformed an area once occupied by illegal buildings. He described the park as a symbol of the government’s vision for Shkodër.
In addition, the project includes a 17-18-hectare park. It features sports facilities, pedestrian paths, cycling lanes, panoramic viewpoints overlooking the lake, and areas for events and concerts.
The Albanian Development Fund leads the project with full government funding. At the same time, the plan includes a new port near Buna Bridge. It also includes a museum that will showcase Shkodër’s history.
As a result, the project will ease traffic in the city. It also widens the road from the Bërdica Arch to the Bahçallëk Bridge. The works also expand the bridge to four lanes.
