Begaj decrees Klodiana Spahiu’s appointment as Health Minister

President Bajram Begaj has signed a decree dismissing Evis Sala as Minister of Health and Social Welfare, appointing Klodiana Spahiu as her successor.

“Today, the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, decreed the dismissal of Ms. Evis Sala as Minister of Health and Social Welfare. He also decreed the appointment of Klodiana Spahiu as Minister of Health and Social Welfare,” the President’s Office said.

Sala resigned on September 2 after one year in office. She stepped down to take on international commitments in oncology, artificial intelligence and innovation.

A day later, Prime Minister Edi Rama nominated Klodiana Spahiu for the post.

Following the nomination, Spahiu thanked Rama for his confidence. She also thanked her predecessor, Professor Evis Sala, for her work and contribution to the ministry.
