Gonxhja: National Campaign to Register Artisans Begins

Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja announced the launch of a national campaign to register artisans across Albania. The campaign aims to identify, assess and promote traditional crafts and the people who preserve them.

Gonxhja said the campaign would give greater visibility to artisans and their work. It will also help promote Albania’s traditional crafts and cultural heritage. Artisans can apply online through the relevant platform. They can also apply at the Regional Directorates of Cultural Heritage responsible for their area.

“The national registration campaign gives a new dimension to the recognition and identification of artisans. It aims to identify, assess and promote traditional crafts and their practitioners across the country,” Gonxhja said.

He added that artisans can join the initiative either online or through the Regional Directorates of Cultural Heritage. Meanwhile, Gonxhja highlighted the work of artisan Hate Ora in Kukës.

He praised her dedication to preserving and passing on the traditional skills and cultural values of the region. The national campaign aims to create a more complete picture of Albania’s artisan community.

In addition, it seeks to strengthen the promotion of the country’s cultural heritage and traditional crafts.
