Bajraktari Calls Hague Verdict ‘Scandalous’, Urges Political Unity in Kosovo

Albanian-American activist Harry Bajraktari called the Hague verdict against four former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders “scandalous.” He described it as a “sad day for Kosovo and international justice.”

Bajraktari said the four were convicted for standing with their people against what he described as Serbian oppression, brutality and ethnic cleansing. He also accused Serbia of avoiding accountability for crimes committed during the Kosovo war.

“This is one of the greatest injustices in history. It is absurd,” Bajraktari wrote on X.

Meanwhile, he called on Kosovo’s political leaders to put aside their differences and prepare to challenge what he described as “this injustice.”

“To win this battle, all divisions among political leaders must end today,” he said.

Bajraktari urged Vetëvendosje, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) to unite.

He said Kosovo needs stable institutions, political unity, economic development, a strong army and closer engagement with Washington, Brussels, London, Paris and Berlin.
