EU Ambassador to Albania Sofia Moreira de Sousa held her first meeting with Ilir Rusi, head of the High Judicial Council (HJC). They discussed the importance of judicial independence and efficiency in Albania’s justice reform.
In a social media post, Moreira de Sousa highlighted the HJC’s key role in judicial governance and the implementation of justice reform in Albania.
“The High Judicial Council plays a key role in judicial governance and in implementing justice reform in Albania,” Moreira de Sousa said.
She stressed that an independent and efficient judiciary is essential for building a more effective and accountable justice system. She also said it is crucial to strengthening public trust in the judiciary.
“We will continue working with the HJC to consolidate the reform and strengthen citizens’ trust in justice,” the EU ambassador said.
