Albania’s Ministry of Justice hosted representatives from partner institutions in Kosovo and North Macedonia during the Regional Forum on Strengthening Mediation Mechanisms. During the event, officials officially launched the “SEE Mediation – Strengthening Mediation Systems in Southeast Europe” project.
The forum brought together justice sector representatives, judges, prosecutors, and mediators from across the region. Participants exchanged experiences and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in developing alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Justice Minister Elona Hoxha described mediation as an important tool for improving the efficiency of the justice system.
She emphasized that mediation helps reduce court caseloads. At the same time, it provides faster and more effective solutions for citizens. As a result, it improves access to justice and supports a more efficient legal system.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the SEE Mediation project aims to strengthen mediation systems across Southeast Europe. The initiative will promote the exchange of best practices, enhance professional capacities, and deepen regional cooperation among justice institutions.
Furthermore, the project seeks to support ongoing judicial reforms and encourage the use of modern dispute-resolution mechanisms throughout the region.
In conclusion, the Ministry of Justice thanked judges, prosecutors, mediators, and justice sector representatives for their contributions. It also expressed appreciation to international partners for their continued support in advancing justice reforms and strengthening modern legal mechanisms across Southeast Europe.
