TIRANA, May 5 – Climate change no longer represents a distant threat. It already affects economies, infrastructure, and communities across borders. Minister of Environment Sofjan Jaupaj made the statement during the Regional Climate Conference in Tirana.
At the same time, he said Albania is pleased to host the conference. He added that the event aims to shift from commitments to concrete action.
In addition, Jaupaj described climate change as a global challenge. He said it requires strong regional and international cooperation.
From a policy perspective, he said the conference strengthens regional coordination. He pointed to early warning systems and better use of climate data. He also linked this work to policy planning and investment decisions.
Meanwhile, he stressed alignment with the European Union Green Agenda. He also connected climate action with Albania’s EU integration path.
Furthermore, Jaupaj called for faster implementation of practical solutions. He also urged the unlocking of climate financing to support long-term resilience.
In conclusion, he said the process must continue beyond the conference. He called for stronger cooperation, shared responsibility, and real impact on the ground.
The Regional Climate Conference in Tirana brought together representatives from several countries. It is seen as a step toward a more sustainable future, with a focus on cooperation, innovation, and green policies for environmental protection and future generations.
