TIRANA, May 19 – Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu participated in the World Urban Forum 2026 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Leaders, international institutions, experts and policymakers discussed urbanisation, sustainable development and the future of cities.
Meanwhile, Koçiu said on social media that the forum served as a meeting point for visions and ideas aimed at more liveable, smarter and more citizen-centred cities.
In addition, she underlined the importance of building safe, resilient and inclusive cities in response to global challenges related to housing, urbanisation and climate change.
Koçiu also presented Albania’s priorities for future urban development. She focused on climate resilience, investment in urban quality and the advancement of the Smart City initiative through technology and intelligent systems.
Finally, Koçiu said Albania serves as a concrete example of how political vision and strategic investments can transform cities and the country’s economic model.
