Foreign Investors Association of Albania urge review of proposed 2027 tax measures

The Foreign Investors Association of Albania has called on the government to reconsider the proposed 2027 fiscal package. It urged officials to consult businesses meaningfully and assess the economic impact of planned tax increases.

The association said major tax changes should rely on sound economic analysis and transparent consultation. Businesses also need sufficient time to assess the effects and prepare for new requirements.

According to the association, fiscal policy shapes investment decisions, business competitiveness and long-term planning. Stability, transparency and predictability in the tax and regulatory framework are essential to attracting sustainable foreign investment. Sudden changes, it warned, can increase uncertainty and undermine investor confidence.

The association also stressed that Albania needs a clear and predictable framework as it seeks to strengthen competitiveness, attract foreign investment and advance European integration. It called for comprehensive impact assessments, open consultation with the business community and adequate transition periods before significant fiscal changes take effect.
