The Albanian government has declared the historic center of Dhërmi an immovable cultural heritage site.
The Council of Ministers approved the decision and defined the protection zone of the historic center through zoning maps and coordinates in the Albanian Geodetic Reference Framework.
The government also approved a plan to preserve, protect, and manage the historic center and its surrounding area. The plan aims to safeguard cultural heritage and support sustainable development.
The State Authority for Geospatial Information will publish the maps on the National Geoportal, while the State Cadastre Agency will register the decision in line with current legislation.
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, and the Municipality of Himarë will implement the decision.
The measure will take effect after its publication in the Official Gazette.
The decision strengthens efforts to preserve the historic character and cultural heritage of Dhërmi, one of the most distinctive villages on the Albanian Riviera.
