The Student List will continue the dialogue with Kosovo initiated under the previous government. This also includes the implementation of the 2013 Brussels Agreement on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, signed with the mediation of the European Union, according to Ilija Srdanović, who topped the list that won Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections on October 25.
In an interview with Radio Free Europe (RFE/RL), Srdanović said the new government would honor the international agreements signed during Aleksandar Vučić’s administration.
This applies to political agreements, while contracts with foreign companies for investments in Serbia will be honored “if they comply with Serbia’s legal system and international legal instruments.”
Srdanović also emphasized that Serbia would continue its European integration process and that every effort would be made to inform citizens about the benefits of European Union membership.
He reiterated his call to avoid any form of political retaliation in Serbia, stating that the outgoing government, which remains in office, bears responsibility for the current security situation.
Srdanović was the leading candidate on the Student List, selected through decisions made by university faculty plenums across Serbia. The movement, which emerged from two years of protests against corruption and in support of the rule of law, adopted a strategy of organizing without a single leader.
Following its decisive victory over Aleksandar Vučić’s political forces, which governed Serbia for 14 years, the question now arises as to who will be the Student List’s candidate for prime minister.
