Italians Lead Tourist Visits in Albania, Accommodation Up 20.8%

Tourism in Albania continued to grow in March, with a strong increase in visitors staying in accommodation structures.

According to INSTAT, total visitors increased by 20.8% compared to March 2025. Foreign visitors rose even more, by 23.7%. Resident visitors increased by 15.9%.

Italian tourists led arrivals. They made up 30% of all non-resident visitors. Kosovo followed with 12%. Germany accounted for 7%. The United Kingdom and France represented 6% and 5% respectively.

Tourism demand grew strongly in northern Albania. In that region, non-resident visitors more than doubled, rising from 13,516 to 30,986.

Coastal areas also recorded significant growth. Foreign visitors reached 45,946, up from 31,691 last year. As a result, the tourist season expanded beyond the traditional summer months.

Overnight stays also increased. Total overnight stays rose by 12.8%. Foreign overnight stays increased by 14.4%.

Hotels and similar accommodations remained the main choice for tourists. Meanwhile, hotel room occupancy reached 18.5%, slightly higher than last year.
