Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu said Albania continues to deliver strong economic results. As a result, the country ranks among the region’s best performers in both economic growth and inflation control.
According to the latest statistics, Albania recorded an inflation rate of 2.8% in April 2026. This figure was lower than in neighboring countries and below the European Union average.
Koçiu stressed that the facts speak for themselves. She noted that Albania has become more stable, more competitive, and more secure on its path toward economic development. At the same time, the economy grew by 3.4%, while inflation remained the lowest in the region at 2.8%.
Furthermore, Eurostat’s harmonized inflation data showed that Albania outperformed several regional economies. Serbia recorded 3.6% inflation, Kosovo 7.5%, North Macedonia 5.7%, Bosnia and Herzegovina 6.8%, and Montenegro 3.6%. Meanwhile, the EU average stood at 3.2%.
In addition, Koçiu said these figures reflect the resilience of the Albanian economy. They also demonstrate the impact of policies aimed at controlling inflation and maintaining macroeconomic stability.
She added that concrete results are benefiting citizens despite ongoing political and media debates. According to Koçiu, the figures clearly show that Albania is moving in the right direction on its path toward European Union membership.
Finally, she emphasized that low inflation and steady economic growth remain key factors for improving citizens’ well-being and strengthening the country’s European future.
