Kukësi and Butrinti face playoff final for place in Albania’s second division

TIRANA, May 28 – Kukësi and Butrinti will face each other today at 15:00 at the Rrogozhina stadium. The match will decide a place in Kategoria e Parë, which is the second division of the Albanian football championship below the Superior League. Albanian Radio and Television will broadcast the match live.

Kukësi entered the Kategoria e Parë play-out round, where Bylis B defeated the team on penalties. Earlier, Bylis B had also eliminated Butrinti. The Saranda-based side reached the additional matches from Kategoria e Dytë, the third tier of Albanian football.

Meanwhile, Bylisi B remained in Kategoria e Dytë because Bylis A dropped from Kategoria e Parë. As a result, the Albanian Football Federation decided to organise an additional match between Kukësi and Butrinti.

The final will take place today in Rrogozhina. The winner will complete next season’s Kategoria e Parë lineup.
