Minister of State for Public Administration announces unified public jobs portal and administrative reforms

TIRANA, April 7 – Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Adea Pirdeni presented new measures to reform and modernize Albania’s public administration during an event on public sector employment.

She announced the launch of a unified recruitment portal for public administration jobs. The National Agency for Employment and Skills and the Department of Public Administration developed the platform jointly. The portal creates a single public entry point for job applications and replaces fragmented hiring practices across institutions.

Pirdeni said the initiative forms part of a broader reform package to transform the public administration. She noted that institutions face known challenges but must strengthen human capacities to address them.

She identified European Union integration as the main challenge. According to Pirdeni, public administration must compete in the labor market to attract talent while supporting the ongoing negotiation process.

The reforms also aim to strengthen the administration as a competitive employer. Pirdeni said the government has started a comprehensive review of the wage system to ensure a structured and fair pay framework.

She added that the government has introduced systematic wage indexation based on inflation. This measure aims to align salaries with the economic reality of Albanian households.

Pirdeni said these reforms have already produced results in international assessments. She noted that SIGMA, a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Union, ranks Albania as a regional leader in public sector human resources management.
