Nepravishta: A Journey of Hospitality, Tradition and Nature

Nepravishta, near Libohovë, offers visitors a unique way to explore southern Albania. The village combines nature, local traditions, cultural heritage and warm hospitality.

Visitors can follow scenic trails that lead to old mosques, olive oil producers and local family homes. They can also walk through the Bureto hills while tasting local honey and enjoying the surrounding nature.

Moreover, Nepravishta offers more than a simple tourist visit. It connects history, local products, nature and family traditions in one authentic experience.

The village has also joined Albania’s application to the World Tourism Organization’s “Best Tourism Villages” program. Nepravishta became the country’s second candidate after Voskopojë.

The program promotes rural destinations with strong tourism potential. It also supports sustainable development and the protection of cultural and natural heritage.

Nepravishta is home to several cultural monuments. These include Melan Castle, the Melan aqueduct, the Early Christian Church of Manastareq and the Melan Tekke.

The protected area around Melan Castle covers 87,000 square meters. The area also features the famous chestnut trees of Nepravishta.

Nearby, visitors can discover the Nepravishta Spring, also known as Vrizi. This karst spring provides clear and cold water. It also offers scientific, geological, cultural and tourism value.

As a result, Nepravishta is becoming an attractive destination for travelers who want to experience Albania through its nature, heritage, local products and traditional hospitality.
