PM Rama: Starting Next Year, Children Will Stay at School Until 5:00 PM

During his speech this afternoon, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that, starting next year, children will remain at school until 5:00 PM.

The measure will help working parents, while children will take part in cultural and sports activities that will also contribute to their social development.

“Another important task is the work that needs to be done jointly between us and civil society to expand the range of social activities available to children, from sports to culture, including everything related to performing arts, painting, crafts, photography, and more.

“Extending the time children spend at school will begin immediately next year. We have allocated a budget so that parents can continue working while their children remain at school until 5:00 PM,” Rama said.

Rama also announced plans to hold consultations with parents and teachers on restricting social media access for minors.
