Pope Leo XIV receives President Bajram Begaj at the Vatican

TIRANA, May 26 – Pope Leo XIV received President of the Republic of Albania Bajram Begaj in an audience at the Vatican. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and developments in the Western Balkans.

Meanwhile, President Begaj also held talks with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See. Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher also took part in the meeting.

According to a press release from the Holy See Press Office, the discussions took place in a friendly atmosphere. Both sides expressed appreciation for the good bilateral relations and willingness to further develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

At the same time, the talks covered international issues. The Western Balkans and its European Union integration process received particular attention.
