Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania has entered an advanced stage in its EU integration process after the 8th Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference.
He called the conference another major milestone for the country. Rama said Albania opened all negotiation chapters in just 11 months.
He described the pace as fast and called it another record in the accession process. The prime minister said the country now carries more responsibility.
He stressed that this is not the end of negotiations, but the beginning of the final stage toward membership in the European Union. Rama said EU membership has become a major public issue in Albania.
He added that Albanians continue to follow the process with strong interest. On the economy, Rama said Albania’s GDP has passed 27 billion euros.
He said average salaries have increased in both the private and public sectors. Rama also highlighted rising investment and economic growth.
He said reforms linked to EU integration have strengthened institutions and improved the justice system.
According to Rama, Albania has built stronger institutions and a more independent judiciary.
He added that the country has moved away from a culture of impunity and continues to strengthen the rule of law.
