Rama: Albania Ranks First in Region for Public Procurement Performance

Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania has achieved strong progress in public procurement, ranking first in the region based on European Union assessments.

Speaking on the “FLASIM” podcast, Rama described public procurement as one of the most important chapters in the EU integration process. He said international evaluations show significant improvement in Albania’s performance.

Rama stated that Albania leads the Western Balkans in procurement indicators and, in some cases, performs above the European Union average. He highlighted improvements in transparency and efficiency.

He linked these results to anti-corruption efforts and state modernization. Rama said reforms in governance systems have reduced opportunities for corruption.

The prime minister also pointed to digital transformation in public services. He said around 95% of state services are now available through the e-Albania platform.

Rama added that the digital system has replaced long queues and informal payments with direct online interaction between citizens and the state.

He said Albania’s progress in public procurement is recognized internationally as a positive example of reform and modernization.
