Rama in Seoul: Countries Across Continents Face Surprisingly Similar Challenges

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the Asian Leadership Conference in Seoul during his official visit to South Korea.

The conference focused on global cooperation and leadership. Rama said he felt privileged to return to Seoul after more than two decades. He praised South Korea’s transformation and development.

Rama said history matters, but it does not decide a country’s future alone. He said countries across continents can face similar challenges. He mentioned identity, modernization and social change.

He compared North and South Korea. He said South Korea chose openness, democracy and innovation. He said North Korea chose isolation and fear.

Rama also spoke about Albania’s past. He said Albania was once called the “North Korea of Europe.” He said the country now follows a different path. He highlighted democratic reforms and European integration.

The prime minister praised Asian countries for choosing cooperation and pragmatism. He mentioned Japan, Singapore and South Korea as examples of success and innovation.

Rama also spoke about leadership. He said leaders must act even in difficult situations. He said true leadership requires courage, learning and responsibility.

He thanked South Korea for inspiring countries like Albania through resilience, ambition and progress.
