Rama on Zvërnec: Luxury Resorts Bring High Revenue to the Country, the Project Will Not Be Cancelled

Following the government meeting this Wednesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed the media, also commenting on the construction of the resort in Zvërnec.

Rama stated that resorts are among the main drivers of a country’s economic development and that he will not cancel the project.

“I have to deal with people who say, ‘Why do we need luxury resorts?’ or that they are not meant for us. In fact, the opposite is true. Luxury resorts generate much higher revenues than conventional tourism. The figures clearly demonstrate this.

Now that young people also have GPT, they can ask it. Luxury resorts generate income, and this is something that has been studied and supported by facts. Luxury resorts are not built on the moon; they are real places that attract visitors who contribute to the economy and increase state revenues.

Just look at Montenegro, which does not manufacture rockets, cars, or highly developed technology products, but relies on tourism. How is it that wages there are among the highest in the region? The answer is very simple: luxury resorts.

I have no doubts about this, and in my view, Albania should not be deprived of this project,” he said.
