Rama: Zvërnec Project Will Turn Vlora into a Global Destination

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the planned tourism resort in Zvërnec will transform Vlora into a destination of global importance.

During a meeting with local residents, Rama highlighted the project’s expected economic impact. He said the investment would attract further development and increase interest in real estate, apartments, and businesses across the region.

“With this project, Vlora will no longer be just a city in Albania. Instead, it will become a destination for the world,” Rama said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also addressed an incident involving a protester who was reportedly mistreated by private security personnel. He described the event as unacceptable and stressed that authorities reacted immediately.

According to Rama, the police director was dismissed and the security company lost its license following the incident.

Furthermore, Rama argued that major development projects often face opposition. However, he said such objections should not prevent economic growth and investment.

He also promised transparency throughout the process. Rama stated that once the final project is completed, investors and government representatives will present it to the local community.

In addition, he stressed that the government has applied strict environmental standards. He said authorities have repeatedly requested revisions to ensure greater protection of the lagoon, biodiversity, and surrounding ecosystems.

Finally, Rama reaffirmed his support for the investment. He said the project would generate long-term economic benefits for Vlora and strengthen its position as an international tourism destination.
