Rowing to Be Included in “Prishtina 2030” Mediterranean Games

Rowing will become part of the Mediterranean Games “Prishtina 2030.” Kosovo has already started preparations for the sport’s development. First, officials confirmed the decision to include rowing in the program. This step strengthens the country’s sports agenda for the Games.

Then, the acting Minister of Youth and Sports, Blerim Gashani, met representatives of rowing federations and clubs from Prizren, Pristina, and Deçan. They discussed development plans, current challenges, and future steps.

Next, Gashani said the Rowing Federation is in the licensing phase. He stated that it is expected to be ready to support preparations for “Prishtina 2030.”

Furthermore, he emphasized continued institutional support for federations and athletes. He said Kosovo aims to present itself strongly as both host and participant.

Meanwhile, rowing has been included as a core sport in the first phase of the sports program. This decision reflects its importance in Mediterranean countries.

In addition, organizers said the sport will introduce a new sporting culture in Kosovo. It will also increase youth participation in sports and strengthen overall sports development.

Finally, Kosovo aims to build a long-term foundation for rowing. The goal is to establish it as one of the key emerging sports ahead of the 2030 Games.
