TIRANA, June 5 – The Director General of Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH), Eni Vasili, said 2025 marked a major financial challenge for the public broadcaster, while the institution continued to fulfil its public service mission.
Presenting the annual balance sheet, Vasili said RTSH inherited weak operational conditions in both technology and digital systems. She said this required immediate action to stabilise the institution. Meanwhile, she said the focus shifted to strengthening financial security and creating conditions for institutional transformation.
Vasili said the priority centred on reducing liquidity pressure. RTSH introduced tighter financial management, stricter control of spending and improved cash-flow administration. She said the goal focused on consolidating core operations rather than expanding activities.
As a result, RTSH gradually reduced overdue liabilities during the year. The institution renegotiated payment deadlines for several obligations and avoided financial penalties. Vasili said these measures helped stabilise operations.
She said RTSH cleared 150 million ALL in overdue payments in 2025. The figure represents 49.8% of total arrears. Meanwhile, she said the result marked a key step toward financial stabilisation.
Director General said the institution faced a difficult financial environment while continuing its public service role. She reiterated that RTSH found itself in weak operational condition at the start of the year.
Vasili added that financial measures in 2025 strengthened stability and improved liquidity management. She added that the institution built a foundation for future transformation based on stronger internal control and more efficient financial flows.
