Organizers opened the Albanian-language Book Fair “Shkup 2026” in Skopje’s “Skënderbeu” Square. The event became one of the key cultural platforms for promoting reading and Albanian-language literature.
First, the fair brought together publishers, writers, researchers, and readers from North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania. It created a shared space for cultural exchange across the region.
In addition, organizers scheduled the fair to run for four days, from June 4 to June 7. More than 55 publishing houses participated in the event.
Throughout the fair, organizers hosted book launches, author meetings, and cultural activities. These activities strengthened interaction between readers and the literary community.
Moreover, the Municipality of Çair in Skopje, together with the Institute of Book and Promotion (ILP) in Tirana, organized the event.
Finally, organizers stated that they aim to turn the fair into an annual tradition. They also said the event will bring readers closer to books and strengthen cooperation between authors, publishers, and the public in the region.
