Skyscanner lists Saranda among top destinations for summer 2026

TIRANA, June 4 – Travel platform “Skyscanner” has included Saranda in its list of destinations to discover in 2026.

According to “Skyscanner”, summer travel is often concentrated on well-known Mediterranean locations such as the Greek islands, the Balearic Islands and other established coastal resorts. However, it said demand is increasing for quieter and more authentic alternatives outside mass tourism routes.

In this context, “Skyscanner” highlights Saranda in southern Albania as a key destination. It describes the city as a base for coastal tourism and short trips in the region. It points to access to Ksamil, the Blue Eye natural spring and the Butrint archaeological park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It also notes nearby beaches and a coastal promenade.

The platform said the Albanian Riviera is gaining visibility due to clear waters and competitive prices. It added that the area is emerging as an alternative to crowded Mediterranean destinations.
