New details have emerged from Monday’s meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, held at the Parliament’s headquarters.
The meeting lasted nearly an hour and was attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama. Discussions reportedly focused on the draft 2027 state budget, the law on public assemblies, and MPs’ engagement with citizens.
Euronews Albania journalist Eksiola Shehu reported that discussions included government compensation for businesses affected by damage during the protests. She noted that the compensation funds would be included in the 2027 budget, which is expected to be reviewed by the Council of Ministers this week.
The parliamentary group also discussed the possibility of passing the law on public assemblies through an expedited parliamentary procedure.
According to Shehu, Prime Minister Rama instructed MPs to increase their presence on the ground and hold meetings with citizens.
