SPAK Hosts International Anti-Corruption Meeting in Tirana, Bringing Together Representatives from 28 Jurisdictions

Albania’s Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) hosted the 16th meeting of the Law Enforcement Network (LEN), part of the OECD Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN), in Tirana from October 27 to 29.

In a statement published on social media on Friday, SPAK announced that the event brought together 70 investigators and prosecutors from 28 jurisdictions, along with representatives of three international organizations.

The meeting focused on practices and challenges related to anti-corruption investigations, particularly the lawful use of initial intelligence, the preservation of electronic evidence, and proving the illicit origin of assets.

Another key topic was the exchange of investigative techniques and practical solutions among law enforcement authorities, especially in cases involving information, individuals, and assets spread across multiple countries.

SPAK emphasized that, in such cases, establishing a reliable chain of evidence requires close international cooperation.

At the end of its statement, SPAK thanked the OECD and its Anti-Corruption Network for co-organizing the event and expressed appreciation for the support provided by the European Union and the UK Government.
