TIRANA, May 25 – Tirana will become an international centre for elite padel sport. The city will host a major tournament from 26 to 30 May at Skanderbeg Square, with free entry for the public.
Top international players will compete in the event. They will play for key ranking points in a high-level competitive setting. The tournament takes place under the supervision of Albanian National Olympic Committee, the International Padel Federation, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and the Albanian Padel Federation.
Skanderbeg Square will serve as the main venue. The central space in Tirana will be transformed into a temporary sports arena. The format follows a growing international trend of staging padel events in major city squares, including Krakow during the 2023 European Games and Plaza Mayor in Valladolid.
The competition is part of the FIP Platinum category, the highest level of the CUPRA FIP Tour. The event offers prize money between 120,000 and 150,000 euros. It also awards up to 300 ranking points to winners. The tournament features leading international players competing for top rankings.
Organizers describe the event as more than a competition. They present it as a global sports showcase that promotes emerging talent and connects cities to the international padel movement. The event in Tirana will be open to the public free of charge.
