US Ambassador to Tirana Eric Wendt meets SPAK chief

The United States Ambassador to Tirana, Eric Wendt, met with the leadership of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), with discussions focusing on challenges related to transnational crime, drug trafficking, and illegal migration.

In a social media post, the US Embassy in Tirana said these issues are among US President Donald Trump’s top priorities.

During the meeting, Ambassador Wendt and SPAK officials discussed the role of independent institutions in addressing these challenges, as well as cooperation between the two countries in the areas of security and the fight against crime.

“Combating transnational crime, drug trafficking, and illegal migration is among President Donald Trump’s top priorities,” the US Embassy said in its statement.

According to the Embassy, the partnership between the United States and Albanian institutions aims to help strengthen security and create a safer and more prosperous future for both countries.
