Around 17,000 students have started the new school year at vocational schools across Albania. The programmes combine theoretical education with practical training and work experience to prepare students for the labour market.
Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj wished students a successful new school year. She also sent a special message to 10th-grade students starting vocational education for the first time.
Meanwhile, 10th-grade enrolment remains open until September 30 through the e-Albania government portal. Students can choose from programmes linked to professions that are in demand in the labour market.
More than 17,000 young people will attend 31 public vocational schools across Albania this year. Vocational education now accounts for 19.4% of secondary education, up from 12.7% in 2013.
