Berisha: Open to compromise, a single opposition candidate in upcoming local elections

TIRANA, November 8 /ATSH/ – Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha confirmed today that the Democratic Party (DP) is open and prepared to reach a compromise with opposition political forces in order to topple the government.

During an online discussion with citizens, Berisha emphasized that, “The Democratic Party is sincere, open and absolutely ready to make compromises with these political forces regarding joint candidates across the country.”

“I call upon the leaders of these parties to set aside their disagreements and join forces to save Albania from a major evil—something it has never experienced before. Any hesitation only works in Edi Rama’s favor,” Berisha stated.

Furthermore, Berisha noted that there could never be any negative stance toward those who wish to establish their own political entity. “Political pluralism is a cornerstone of democracy, and everyone has the right to act according to their own opinions and desires,” he added.

On the other hand, Berisha emphasized that the student protests in Albania bear no resemblance to the Serbian scenario.

“Therefore, my suggestion to them—while they are fully entitled to take any step they choose—is simply not to believe in things that are not real,” Berisha stated. /m.m/a.f/p.s./
