Prime Minister Edi Rama said during his speech at the Euronews Enlargement Summit in Brussels that Albania aims to conclude accession negotiations with the European Union by the end of 2027.
Rama expressed skepticism about the deadlines periodically set by the European Union regarding Albania, but emphasized that the country is working hard alongside the European Commission to achieve this objective.
“I’ve been around long enough in this process. I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe. I don’t know. What I do know for sure is that we have worked very hard. Along this journey, there have been deadlines that have faded away. I’ve seen the EU fail to keep its promises, but I’ve also seen it accomplish great things. What I know for a fact is that we are working very hard on a joint plan, fully supported by the European Commission, to conclude negotiations with the European Union by the end of 2027,” Rama said.
