Durres Port Authority promotes regional cooperation at Sarajevo transport forum

The Durres Port Authority took part in Waterborne Transport Week 2026, an international event held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community organised the forum under the motto “Connecting Transport, Connecting People”.

The event brought together representatives of European institutions, transport authorities and regional partners. They focused on making waterborne transport safer, greener and more sustainable.

During the 18th meeting of the Technical Committee on Waterborne and Multimodal Transport, Durres Port Authority representative Vegim Hoti presented an overview of the port’s current operations.

He also highlighted its achievements and outlined plans to further develop port infrastructure and services.

Albania’s participation reflects its commitment to stronger regional cooperation and the exchange of expertise. It also supports efforts to modernise the port sector and connect it more closely with European transport networks.
