Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced the creation of a new communication platform for students and university lecturers, aimed at facilitating direct dialogue on issues and concerns they wish to raise with the government.
During a joint press conference with the European Union Ambassador to Albania, Sofia Moreira de Sousa, Rama said the platform would be available starting tomorrow, emphasizing that it would be open to any student wishing to interact with him and government representatives.
The prime minister also claimed that three groups of students had been prevented from meeting with him through pressure and intimidation, both online and in person. According to Rama, the meetings had been planned without cameras or media presence, with the aim of holding direct conversations.
“As I have previously announced, tomorrow we will open another window on the screens of anyone interested, a dialogue platform offered to all those who wish to interact with me and the government on any issue they consider important,” Rama stated.
He added that the platform aims to give students the opportunity to freely express their opinions and concerns without facing threats or pressure from individuals who, according to him, are attempting to obstruct dialogue.
“Three groups of students were forced to back down through online and offline intimidation by these so-called activists as they tried to arrange a meeting with me, without cameras, photographs or press announcements, simply to have a conversation. Three groups of students whose identities were exposed and who were subsequently subjected to extreme bullying,” the prime minister said.
